Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Revenue Crimes Specialist 1 to join our team. As a key member of our investigative unit, you will be responsible for conducting complex investigations into tax crimes and white collar offenses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct investigations to identify and prosecute individuals and organizations involved in tax crimes and white collar offenses.
  • Apply knowledge of investigative principles and techniques to gather evidence and build cases against suspects.
  • Collaborate with other investigators, auditors, and legal staff to share intelligence and coordinate efforts.
  • Testify in court and administrative hearings as an expert witness.
  • Provide investigative support to prosecutors during trial preparation and proceedings.
  • Conduct regulatory inspections and associated paperwork.
  • Prepare tactical plans and execute search warrants as needed.
  • Carry, safeguard, and maintain a Department-issued firearm, if necessary.
  • Operate Department vehicles safely and in accordance with all policies and applicable laws.
  • Adhere to and comply with Department and Division policies, including attendance and leave rules, outside employment, and personal weapons ownership.
  • Successfully complete all mandatory and assigned training.
  • Act as a team member, working collaboratively with other investigators, auditors, and legal staff on assigned investigations.
  • Interact with others in a respectful, honest, clear, and culturally aware manner.
  • Take direction from the District Office Management Team.
  • Travel, including overnight, for investigations, training, and other official business.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in conducting investigations of tax crimes, white collar crime, and/or conducting related field investigations of criminal activities.
  • Associate's degree in criminal justice and four years of experience listed under #1.
  • Six years of experience listed under #1.

Candidates must be United States citizens and reside in New York State at the time of appointment and maintain New York State residency during employment. Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
