We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Probationary Dispatcher to join our team at the City of Boerne. As a Probationary Dispatcher, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a central point for receiving emergency and non-emergency information via various communication channels.
Key Responsibilities- Answer emergency and non-emergency telephone equipment, including E911 and TTY/TDD, to provide services to law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services, utility personnel, and other related functions.
- Direct inquiries from the public to the proper agency or organization.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical service personnel and utility personnel via radio, Mobile Data Terminal, and/or telephone.
- Relay and provide information to field units.
- Operate and disseminate information to the proper personnel by way of law enforcement telecommunications equipment systems.
- Valid Texas Driver's License and must be bondable.
- Must possess the State of Texas TCOLE Basic Telecommunications Operator Certification.
- Ability to work well under stressful situations and make quick and correct decisions affecting the safety of personnel and the general public.
- Good short-term memory and ability to handle multiple situations simultaneously.
