Job Title: Evening and Weekend Studies Teacher

At Job Corps, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Evening and Weekend Studies Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our instructional staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality education to our students in a small setting on evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction to students in small settings on evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain a high level of discipline within the classroom.
  • Prepare thoroughly for classroom instruction.
  • Submit Educational Service Plans (ESPs) as scheduled in a timely manner.
  • Document student progress for inclusion on the ETA 640 Profile.
  • Record and forward daily attendance to the Scheduling/Attendance Clerk.
  • Record permits and licenses.
  • Complete case notes for students failing the permit test.
  • Ensure each student receives 36 hours of driver safety training.
  • Arrange for student driving permits and schedules driving tests.
  • Ensure each student passing the 36 hours of classroom and the permit test receives 7 hours of behind-the-wheel and observation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, groups of managers, students, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw related conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram terms, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of or eligibility for temporary teaching certification in the State in which the Center is located.
  • Current State Driver's License in good standing.
