Responsibilities

The Career Services team operates under a comprehensive service model that emphasizes collaboration and communication with all partners involved in supporting individuals seeking employment. Our primary goal is to assist job seekers in developing their employment objectives and securing meaningful, sustained employment.

Career Counselors adhere to the guidelines of the Competitive Integrated Employment Services model, helping individuals stabilize their employment and achieve successful outcomes. They provide tailored support based on each individual's interests, skills, and needs.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborating with relevant agencies to assess individuals' employment and educational goals.
  • Evaluating vocational readiness by developing essential skills such as job application completion, resume writing, and interview preparation.
  • Representing Open Sky in meetings with funding partners regarding work responsibilities and support for individuals served.
  • Assisting individuals in navigating their benefits, including SSI and SSDI, and understanding the implications for their employment.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, including behavioral health challenges, is required.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively is essential.
  • Proficiency in using technology for documentation and organization is necessary.
