At Youth Villages, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community-Based Paraprofessional to join our team. As a key member of our community-based services team, you will play a vital role in supporting youth and families in need.
Responsibilities- Transport and supervise youth and families, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Conduct and interact in supervised visits, fostering positive relationships and promoting healthy interactions.
- Provide support to direct-line staff as needed, contributing to a collaborative and effective team environment.
- Coordinate transports and supervised visits, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, adhering to contract requirements and Youth Villages' standards.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly reports to referral sources and Youth Villages supervisors, providing critical updates and insights.
- Maintain professional communication with referral sources, building trust and rapport.
- Ensure possession of a valid driver's license and required car insurance at all times.
- Conduct ongoing assessments, as outlined by referral sources and Youth Villages, to inform service delivery and improve outcomes.
- Teach and demonstrate parenting skills, empowering families to build stronger relationships and improve their well-being.
- Engage in required trainings to maintain and enhance skills, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
- Perform other support duties as needed, as outlined by the Team Leader, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- Experience preferred but not required.
- Frequently remains in stationary position for periods of time.
- Regularly needs to move throughout the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as calculators, copy machines, and printers.
- Frequently moves, ascends/descends, and traverses.
- Constantly must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, and exchange information with clients and families regarding their therapy and care.
- Frequently needs to be able to recognize, judge, and observe clients as well as client homes in regards to behavior and safety of surroundings.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- See details of objects that are more than a few feet away.
- Determine the distance between objects.
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
- React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
- Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.
- Adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects.
- Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
