Your Role in Making a Difference

The Registered Nurse, under the guidance of the Director of Nursing, delivers licensed nursing care and related technical services for individuals with mental health challenges, ensuring a safe environment by assessing medical stabilization, monitoring, intervening in crises, and facilitating structured activities and support. Responsibilities include documenting daily care, reporting changes to physicians, and assisting with nursing-related tasks as assigned. The Registered Nurse must foster a safe, clean, and healthy environment while adhering to protocols for handling and managing materials. Compliance with departmental standards, policies, and guidelines is essential, as is regular communication with the multidisciplinary team. This role requires physical capabilities, schedule flexibility, and the ability to work in diverse conditions, with 85% of duties focused on direct patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer immunizations and prepare prescribed medications through various methods.
  • Accurately document medications and treatments in patient records; monitor vital signs; observe and report patient responses to treatments.
  • Assist Physicians and Registered Nurses with diagnostic tests and therapeutic measures while documenting client reactions.
  • Contribute to the development and adjustment of client care plans addressing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Monitor client behavior; identify symptoms that may hinder functioning; build rapport to achieve specific goals; discuss nursing assignments and client needs with clinical staff based on ongoing assessments.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) degree from an accredited nursing program is required for all Licensed Nurse positions.
Experience
  • No additional experience beyond the basic requirements is necessary. Licensed Nurses at this level are expected to perform all duties within their licensure scope, with completed work subject to routine or detailed review based on complexity.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Must hold a current, unrestricted California license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (L.V.N) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (L.P.T).
