Department: Housekeeping

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager

Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper/Room Attendant/Suite Attendant is to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of all guest accommodations in accordance with brand standards and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Room Cleaning and Inventory Management:

  • Meticulously cleans all designated rooms following established Brand Standard protocols.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of all items within guest rooms.
  • Communicates the status of cleaned rooms to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Immediately reports any lost and found items to the Housekeeping Supervisor, including the room number or area where the item was discovered.
  • Informs Maintenance and the Housekeeping Supervisor of any damaged or missing items.
  • Reports any unusual circumstances, such as absence of luggage in a stay-over room or damages, to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Safety Protocols:

  • Utilizes all approved cleaning agents safely and correctly.
  • Adheres to proper key control procedures.

Additional Duties:

  • Fosters a positive work environment by interacting and communicating effectively with guests, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Handles dirty rags and linens according to established procedures.
  • Restocks and maintains the housekeeping cart.
  • Assists guests with inquiries and requests.
  • Complies with grooming and dress standards for the department.
  • Capable of executing hotel emergency protocols.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or directed.
  • Punctually arrives for scheduled shifts.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Language Skills: Must comprehend the proper use of equipment and cleaning agents, as well as verbal instructions.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with safe handling of cleaning agents and procedures.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to address practical problems and manage various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: No specific requirements.
  • Other Skills: Proficient in operating equipment such as garbage disposals, vacuum cleaners, self-cleaning ovens, ice makers, and dishwashers. Must be flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience: No formal educational requirements.

Work Environment:

  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Regularly encounters vibrations.
  • Often exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and various chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sight: Must be able to see well enough to read reports, operate a vehicle, and use a computer.
  • Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
  • Mobility: Must be able to stand and operate machinery, as well as move between departments.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to climb stairs and kneel for short periods.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Dexterity: Must be able to write and complete forms as necessary.
