Job Overview

The Lead Systems Integration Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting advanced space exploration initiatives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert and Systems Integration Lead for the Gateway Ready Avionic Integration Lab (GRAIL), a vital component of the Gateway Program aimed at lunar exploration.
  • Engage with laboratory staff, partners, and testing stakeholders to clarify interface and testing requirements.
  • Utilize interface expertise to ensure lab design meets necessary specifications and testing fidelity.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of lab verification processes and confirm the facility's readiness for assigned tests.
  • Support lab equipment testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics to ensure compliance with specifications and integration standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration methodologies, equipment specifications, configurations, and testing outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and safety protocols.
  • Provide assistance to lab personnel and external clients regarding integrated systems and their specifications.
  • Continuously evaluate documents, policies, and procedures for future lab configurations.
  • Participate in system requirements reviews, preliminary design assessments, and critical design evaluations.
  • Facilitate effective communication and organization within a collaborative team environment.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitive nature of information.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering or a related field is necessary.
  • Experience in integrating complex hardware and software systems is essential.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and debugging capabilities are required.
  • Familiarity with testing principles, tools, and processes for developing test requirements is expected.
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the aerospace hardware sector, including mechanical and electrical system design, engineering documentation, and material selection.
  • Ability to produce written documentation and present verbally in various meetings is necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes and Documentation.
  • Experience with NASA operational processes is advantageous.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position is primarily on-site.
  • Offers a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off.
  • Some travel may be required.

BACKGROUND CHECKS:

All employees must successfully complete a national agency check, with some positions requiring additional clearance and an extensive background verification process.
