Your Role in Our Water Resources Team
As a key member of our team, your primary responsibilities will encompass:
- Data compilation, quality assurance, digitization, and management in the creation of groundwater flow and transport models.
- Planning and executing field investigations for groundwater mapping and geophysical surveys, including transient electromagnetic surveys, electrical resistivity tomography, and seismic refraction tomography.
- Processing and inverting geophysical data.
- Conducting hydrological studies to assess surface water-groundwater interactions, identify potential contamination sources, and evaluate the impacts of climate change on groundwater availability.
- Providing technical guidance and support to stakeholders, including governmental bodies, water districts, environmental organizations, and community groups.
- Preparing and presenting reports, presentations, and technical documents that summarize findings, recommendations, and compliance with regulations.
As our new Groundwater Geophysicist, you will join a team of experts leading geophysical surveys, basin characterization, and groundwater modeling across various regions. Your qualifications should include:
- Strong oral and written communication skills, self-motivation, collaborative work ethic, robust data analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in gathering and interpreting geophysical data and developing hydrogeologic conceptual models.
- Familiarity with groundwater modeling software to simulate groundwater flow, evaluate aquifer sustainability, and project future groundwater conditions, considering variable climate scenarios is advantageous.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and effectively communicate findings using visualization tools.
- Bachelor's degree in geophysics or a related field with over 5 years of experience in groundwater.
- Advanced degree is preferred.
- Licensure in the relevant state is a plus.
- Knowledge of water regulations and laws, including the development of groundwater sustainability plans in accordance with state and local regulations is beneficial.
