Job Summary:

Mueller Water Products, Inc is seeking a highly skilled Materials Handler to join our team in Cleveland, TN. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for delivering supplies and materials to necessary departments, maintaining inventory control and records, and ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Unload, move, and store a variety of materials, parts, or products using standardized procedures.
  • Moves materials between departments: follow routing or tickets to fill orders from storage, stock, or other departments.
  • Must be able to identify, count (including weigh count), record, and keep like parts together.
  • Prep materials for the next stage in process: place materials on pallets, trays, racks, etc., install strapping, bracing, or padding.
  • Maintain inventory controls and records as defined in standard work utilizing MRP systems and devices.
  • Perform Cycle counts and other related duties.
  • Operate a power lift truck, hand truck, pallet jack, or other manual or powered devices.
  • Wear the proper PPE for each task given.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.
Requirements:

Physical Requirements:
  • Possess fingertip and hand dexterity.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm's length, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read and comprehend information on labels.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work around hot machinery.
  • Ability to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot/cold).
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have 2+ years of shipping experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.
  • Fluency in MRP systems and devices.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Adhere to all safety and quality policies.
  • Familiarity with inventory and scales.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and work orders.
  • Multitask, self-motivated, and work with little to no supervision.
