Travel MRI Imaging Specialist

Magnet Medical, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking an experienced Travel MRI Technologist to join our team. This 13-week assignment offers a unique opportunity to work in Olympia, Washington, and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Procedure Preparation
- Review patient medical history, doctor's orders, and previous imaging studies to ensure accurate MRI procedures.
- Explain the procedure to patients, addressing concerns to minimize anxiety.
- Complete necessary documentation, including informed consent forms and patient information, before each procedure.
- Verify patient identity and screening criteria for safety, such as checking for implanted devices or allergies to contrast agents.
- Conducting MRI Scans
- Operate MRI machines, adjusting settings as prescribed by physicians to obtain high-quality images.
- Position patients on the MRI table, ensuring comfort and alignment while adhering to safety standards.
- Administer contrast agents as directed by physicians, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
- Ensure patients remain still during scans to capture clear, high-resolution images.
- Patient Safety and Comfort
- Guarantee patient safety during MRI procedures, particularly concerning strong magnetic fields, by verifying the absence of ferrous or metal objects.
- Keep patients informed and reassured during scans, providing instructions as needed for comfort.
- Monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs, during scans to detect potential issues or discomfort.
- Maintenance and Equipment Care
- Regularly calibrate and maintain MRI machines, performing basic troubleshooting when necessary.
- Clean and disinfect the MRI suite and equipment between patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Monitor equipment performance, identifying malfunctions, and alerting staff for repairs or servicing.
- Collaboration with Medical Team
- Communicate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and other medical staff to ensure accurate images and patient needs are met.
- Work with healthcare professionals to review images, assess follow-up scan needs, and discuss patient conditions.
- Collaborate with radiologists to confirm final images meet diagnostic standards and are transmitted accurately to reviewing physicians.
