Durham Technical Community College is hiring an Adjunct Instructor for Plumbing. This role involves teaching plumbing courses and working with the Director in Construction Trades to plan, implement, and coordinate instruction.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Course preparation, delivery, and record keeping
- Teaching all assigned courses for the full duration of scheduled instruction
- Enforcing academic policy and procedures, and complying with institutional rules and regulations
- Assuming responsibility for off-site/classroom prep, including maintenance and clean-up
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess a licensed plumbing contractor qualification and at least 5 years of on-the-job experience or a combination of training and experience.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of relevant disciplines, including basic plumbing repair and installation. They should also be able to establish, maintain, and promote effective communication and interpersonal relations across departmental lines.
This is an exempt position, and hours are not guaranteed but are based on student enrollment and faculty needs. The salary for this position is estimated to be around $32,000-$40,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
