Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Installation and Maintenance Specialist to join our team at GTN Technical Staffing. This is a contract position that offers a competitive hourly rate of $20-25 based on experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing, repair, and installation of customer equipment. This may include troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment, systems, and wiring; installation of equipment; upgrades, modifications, programming; preventive maintenance actions; and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, preventive, and corrective maintenance of equipment including tolling system equipment, PC-based computers, video surveillance equipment, network communications equipment, and/or radio equipment, detectors, antennas, and controller cabinets.
  • Install electrical conductor, data conductor, and fiber optic cable.
  • Terminate CAT 6 and AVI conductors.
  • Connect conductors to equipment and ensure the equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Connect electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment.
  • Test devices to ensure they function correctly.
  • Complete reports, logs, and perform shift-to-shift communications in accordance with established policies, procedures, and local practices.
  • Respond to corrective maintenance requests or alarms within an acceptable time frame. Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and system issues.
  • Report technical status of the system with accuracy and completeness.
  • Restore equipment to operational status as quickly as possible.
  • Maintain spare equipment and parts following guidelines set forth to do so.
  • Swap out modules or PC boards.
  • Isolate faults in units or components.
  • Field test units or components.
  • Electronically file work orders.
  • Assist with training less experienced technicians.
  • Produce mass quantities of cables, assemblies, etc., for installation.
  • Rewire, pull cable, and/or remove equipment from sites.
  • Travel extensively for installation projects.
  • Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
