At Coastal Gulf & International, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Petroleum Field Inspector to join our team. This is a dynamic role that requires a strong understanding of petroleum inspection procedures, as well as the ability to work safely in hazardous environments.

About the Job

This position involves conducting routine inspections at petroleum terminals, refineries, and on board barges and ships. Inspectors will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of measurement equipment, taking product measurements and samples, and performing related calculations. They will also be required to complete reports and forms accurately and promptly.

Inspectors must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to effectively present information to managers, schedulers, and clients. They should also possess basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections at petroleum terminals, refineries, and on board barges and ships.
  • Verify the accuracy of measurement equipment.
  • Taking product measurements and samples.
  • Performing related calculations.
  • Completing reports and forms accurately and promptly.
  • Verifying the cleanliness of tanks.
  • Working safely in hazardous environments.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a high school diploma or equivalent. They should also possess a TWIC card and IFIA certification, if available.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be able to work independently, and possess strong problem-solving abilities. They should also be willing to travel up to 75% of the time and work in a variety of weather conditions.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. The company offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

In addition to the salary and benefits, inspectors will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of petroleum inspection. They will also be part of a dynamic team that values teamwork, safety, and quality.

Work Environment

Inspectors will work in a variety of environments, including refineries, terminals, and on board vessels. They will be exposed to hazardous materials and must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary. The working environment can be physically demanding, requiring inspectors to stand, walk, sit, twist, stoop, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 75lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 40lbs, climbing up to 180ft, perceiving color difference, ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted), and strenuous physical activity.

Inspectors must also be able to read and understand all job and safety requirements in English and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
