Job Title: Bridge Superintendent

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bridge Superintendent to manage and oversee our structural concrete crews.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read, understand, interpret, and enforce safety policies and practices.
  • Examine blueprints to determine dimensions of structure.
  • Lay out floor-plan/worksite as needed.
  • Determine sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembly, and erection of structure.
  • Assign workers to tasks such as cutting material to size, building concrete forms, erecting wooden framework, and laying flooring.
  • Inspect work performed by subordinates to ensure quality.
  • Supervise workers engaged in building timber structures such as cofferdams, trestles, and supports for concrete forms.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, assist workers in solving work problems, and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job, including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of Supervisor or Foreperson concrete bridge carpentry work experience - supervising bridge carpenters, laborers, and concrete finishers.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience and understanding of concrete forms, form setting in bridge work, parking structures, and/or commercial concrete foundations.
  • A minimum of 5 years of reading blueprints work experience in bridge work, parking structures, and/or commercial concrete footings and foundations.
  • Education - four or more years related experience and/or training; or a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
