Position Summary
The Senior Quantitative Model Developer will engage in the creation of intricate quantitative models and analytical tools aimed at managing credit and interest rate risks, facilitating cash flow generation, and conducting scenario analyses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, estimate, prototype, implement, test, document, and maintain sophisticated quantitative models and analytical tools.
  • Develop metrics for model performance and carry out continuous monitoring.
  • Collaborate with various business units and risk partners to ensure successful development, validation, implementation, and execution of models.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, statistics, operations research, quantitative finance) along with relevant experience is essential, or a PhD in a quantitative field.

At least 7 years of experience in model development within the financial services sector is required, with a preference for experience in cash flow analysis, optimization techniques, and familiarity with financial modeling, time series analysis, stress testing, and scenario analysis.

Strong mathematical, statistical, and computational skills are necessary. Prior experience in model development in the financial services industry is preferred, particularly in the auto industry or other consumer and small-business lending products.

Knowledge of financial service products and risk characteristics is essential, with a preference for familiarity with the model validation process. Candidates should demonstrate excellent teamwork abilities, strong influencing and negotiation skills, and effective communication skills.


Technical Proficiencies

Proficiency in programming languages that support statistical computing, such as R or Python, is required. Experience with SQL is mandatory, while familiarity with big data technologies is a strong advantage.

Experience with Unix, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, and dashboard technologies is preferred. Candidates should be able to engage in group DevOps processes, including software development, code refactoring, unit testing, and code reviews.
