Job Title: Geotechnical Internship

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering, assisting with projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. As a Geotechnical Intern, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to provide support for ongoing office and field work.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with engineering analyses and design
  2. Observe soil borings and log soil and rock samples
  3. Soil classification, review, and interpretation
  4. Perform computations, prepare spreadsheets, and edit drawings using AutoCAD
  5. Assist with proposal preparation and reports
  6. Monitor construction activities such as pile driving and footing construction
The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills. Travel is occasional, and physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 25 pounds, carrying objects, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, reaching forward, reaching overhead, squatting/kneeling/crawling, and wrist position deviation.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
