Diagnostic Treatment Center Nurse

At Mitchell Martin, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Diagnostic Treatment Center (DTC) in Amityville, NY.
Job Summary:The DTC RN will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the DTC and Day Health Center (DHC), ensuring a safe and effective delivery of services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical nursing, with experience in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities:- Provide prescribed or emergency care to patients, including venipuncture, dressing changes, and immunizations.
- Teach and supervise family members, auxiliary nursing personnel, and other staff members on patient care and education.
- Perform diagnostic tests and obtain laboratory specimens as authorized by the Primary Care Provider (PCP).
- Assess, evaluate, and report patient physical and emotional condition, reaction to medications and treatments, and critical laboratory results.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and arrange for adequate provision of supplies and medications.
- Ensure proper working condition of all Medical Practice equipment and track and monitor currency of stock medications.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality assurance activities.
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in New York State.
- Active registration to practice in New York State.
- Graduate of an NLN accredited nursing program with a B.S.N. preferred.
- At least one year of experience in an acute care medical-surgical, adult/geriatric ambulatory care/clinic practice setting, and/or certified home healthcare agency (CHHA) required.
- Experience with EKG is preferred.
- IV/Phlebotomy Certificate or strong experience is a must.
- IV Therapy
- Phlebotomy / Venipuncture
- EKG interpretation
- Basic Life Support certified by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Computer/laptop proficiency required.
- Good organizational, observation, communication, and judgment skills.
- Self-directed with ability to work with supervision.
- Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligations.
