Job Summary

The CT Technologist plays a vital role in capturing high-quality images of patients' internal structures using computed tomography (CT) equipment. This position requires strong patient communication and care skills, with an emphasis on patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT equipment to acquire images for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
  • Ensure patients are properly prepared, positioned, and immobilized for exams.
  • Explain exams to patients, maintaining ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
  • Maintain effective working relations and communication with departmental and other hospital personnel.
  • Calibrate and verify equipment operation, notifying personnel of malfunctions and repairs needed.
  • Execute paperwork and Radiology Information System functions for each patient exam.
  • Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-services, and maintain CEUs as required.
  • May oversee and instruct personnel and technology students within the department.
  • Prepare equipment rooms and supplies for patient use.
  • Acknowledge and participate in research programs, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects.
  • Assume on-call coverage and remain flexible in shift coverage and overtime situations.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (ARRT-R) and Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT).
  • Valid state license for Radiologic Technology (if required by state).
  • BLS/CPR certification.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a CT Tech is preferred.
Work Environment

Work is performed in a hospital or imaging center environment. Requires standing for long periods, moving patients, and handling medical equipment. Potential exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens.
