Job Overview

BC Forward is actively seeking a dedicated Laboratory Chemical Technician.

Position Type: Contract (40 hours per week)

Work Schedule: Initial training will occur during the day shift, followed by a 12-hour rotation schedule, alternating between 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing a range of analytical instruments such as GCs, HPLC, FTIR, and Spectrophotometers.
  • Conducting comprehensive analytical evaluations on emulsion polymerization products and plant wastewater.
  • Assessing data against established internal and external specifications.
  • Inspecting incoming raw materials for quality assurance.
  • Performing microbiological assessments.
  • Collaborating with Supply Chain and Operations teams to facilitate timely shipments.
  • Upholding Safety, Environmental, Quality, and EEO/AA standards.
  • Executing additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Biology or Chemistry, or a 2-year technical degree in Analytical Testing with at least 6 months of relevant industrial experience, or a High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of applicable lab experience.
  • Proficiency in operating computer-controlled instruments and familiarity with standard office software.
  • Experience with laboratory testing equipment and analytical methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Preferred candidates will have 2+ years of progressive lab experience.
  • Experience in an ISO or GMP compliant laboratory setting is advantageous.
