About Grede

We are a leading manufacturer of steel castings and engine components, seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee our 3rd shift maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of supervisory experience and a strong background in maintenance management.


Job Summary

This role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including company match 401(k) program, medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and company-provided short and long-term disability.


Main Responsibilities
  • Direct Maintenance Operations: Set goals, organize work, and assign tasks to ensure efficient use of labor hours, materials, and equipment.
  • Safety Practices: Exhibit superior safety practices, extend courtesy and dignity to all employees, and exceed customer quality and service expectations.
  • Machinery Maintenance Program: Develop and maintain an effective machinery maintenance program, including preventive maintenance, to minimize equipment downtime and maximize production.
  • Workforce Management: Plan, organize, and assign work to maintenance supervisors and nonexempt employees to apply skill and experience to the best advantage.
  • Employee Development: Train nonexempt employees in foundry operations, evaluate work performance, and counsel employees to maintain efficient work performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Analyze equipment or machine problems, quality problems, and production delays, expediting repairs and/or corrective actions to minimize downtime and work schedule interruption.
  • Communication: Maintain open communications with employees, work with employees to mutually resolve problems, and promote a union-free environment.
  • Safety Enforcement: Enforce the proper use of safety equipment, maintain departmental housekeeping, and coach employees to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Process Improvement: Maintain awareness of improved operational methods, production processes, or equipment that improve quality and efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain communications across all shifts in maintenance and with other departments to promote efficient operations.
