Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our steel billboard manufacturing facility in the south Chicago area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the operation, including engineering, shop production, and field work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall Operations Management: The Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the operations department, including setting policy, hiring and firing employees, and directing and managing all employees in the operations department.
  • Safety and Quality Control: The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment and maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of the operation.
  • Resource Management and Training: The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, and providing training to employees as needed.
  • Job Scheduling and Information Technology: The Operations Manager will be responsible for scheduling jobs and managing information technology systems to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Customer Interaction: The Operations Manager will be responsible for interacting with customers to ensure their needs are met and to build strong relationships.
Performance Metrics
  • Safety Record: The company's safety record will be a key performance metric, with a focus on reducing accidents and injuries.
  • Job Completion and Budget: The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring that jobs are completed on time and within budget, both in terms of cost and man-hours.
  • Cost of Goods Sold: The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the cost of goods sold as a percentage of the work produced.
