About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinary team in delivering high-quality medical services.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinary technicians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
  • Provide quality husbandry care for patients, including changing bedding, taking vital signs, and walking patients
  • Perform and/or participate in diagnostics such as radiology, ultrasound, ECG, BP, and glucose monitoring
  • Assist with treatments, including x-rays, blood draws, and surgery
  • Facilitate walk-in euthanasia cases and rounds to the outpatient area
  • Body care post-euthanasia
  • Assist with preparing for emergencies, including setting up IVC and blood draw supplies
  • Run labs as needed and assist with surgery
  • Set up the surgical area and keep surgical materials stocked
  • Prepare instruments and knowledge of surgical instruments required for specific surgeries
  • Monitor patients through anesthesia recovery under the direction of the technician
  • Ensure hospital patients go home well-groomed and in an appropriate medical state
Housekeeping Duties

Maintain cleanliness of the surgery suite, treatment area, and exam rooms, including all surfaces, lights, tables, cabinets, walls, and floor.

Clean cages and do laundry.

Maintain equipment cleanliness and longevity by vacuuming pet hair from keyboards, wheels, and equipment.

Organize radiology gowns, gloves, and badges, making sure they are neatly hung or stored.

Administrative Duties

Restock shelves and drawers in exam rooms and treatment areas.

Follow OSHA requirements and practice health and safety protocols.

Be proficient in using our veterinary practice-management software (EzyVet, SmartFlow, Timeless).

Assist Client Administrators as necessary.

Attend staff and individual meetings as scheduled.

Client Services

Greet incoming clients/patients and facilitate medical record paperwork/computer entry.

Physical Requirements

Able to properly restrain dog and cat patients for veterinary care and procedures.

Able to stand, sit, bend, restrain, squat for extended periods of time.

Able to function within a busy, stressful work environment in a mature, professional manner.

Able to lift 60 lbs in a safe manner.

Able to type, write, and verbally converse.

Able to work the posted schedule.

Compensation and Benefits

$19.00 per hour depending on experience.

36 hours per week.
