Job Description

The Environmental Specialist plays a critical role in the EHS Center of Excellence, reporting directly to the Decatur Complex Environmental Manager.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitor activities at the West Complex and ensure compliance with ADM, federal, state, and local government requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and provide training for employees and contractors on environmental programs.
  • Assist with report preparation and maintain records/documentation related to environmental programs.
  • Participate in and lead environmental audits and prioritize audit findings for completion.
  • Communicate with regulatory agencies on permit compliance and other issues.
Requirements:
  • Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
  • Leadership and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong presentation and writing skills.
  • Project/program management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree in Engineering, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in a process industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and management systems.
