Interim HealthCare of West Michigan is a community-focused provider specializing in post-acute care services throughout the region. Your time can make a significant difference when it matters most.
We are currently looking for Hospice Companion Volunteers to join our expanding Hospice Division.
Please note: This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.
Your Role as a Volunteer
- Engage with your patient by reading to them, sharing smiles, listening to their life stories, enjoying music together, watching a favorite show, or playing card games.
- If you prefer a more administrative role, we have positions available at our Corporate Hospice office where you can assist as part of the office support team.
- This role offers flexibility, and we appreciate any time you can contribute.

Volunteer Responsibilities
- Complete the official application and background check form upon contact.
- Engage in an interview process.
- Attend an initial training and orientation session for volunteers.
- Dedicate time to serving your assigned patient or fulfilling administrative tasks.
- Maintain consistent communication with your Volunteer Coordinator.
- Document activities in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Volunteer Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Possess reliable transportation along with a valid state driver's license and current car insurance.
- Exhibit kindness, compassion, reliability, and emotional stability.
