Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration/Boiler Technician to join our Utilities/Refrigeration Dept. at Caviness Beef Packers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of our refrigeration systems, including preventive maintenance, inspections, and daily log upkeep.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing daily operations and maintenance on utility systems, including high-pressure boilers, air compressors, water feed systems, and Ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Conducting daily rounds on utility and refrigeration systems and reporting any deviations
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Assisting higher-level operators in all aspects of the dept.
  • Completing preventive maintenance work orders in an efficient manner
  • Complying with PSM program requirements
  • Following all safety protocols
  • Participating in on-the-job training to learn additional skills
  • Lifting up to 70 lbs and working in extreme temperatures
  • Working under pressure

Requirements

  • Prior industrial experience with Ammonia Refrigeration Steam Boilers is preferred
  • Mechanical background is preferred
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to read and write in English to complete logs and records
  • Ability to attend training and pass courses as required
  • Stable work history is required
