Job Summary

Volt is seeking a highly skilled Electrophysics Engineer/Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and verify TEMPEST requirements with stakeholders through the development and sustainment of various systems.
  • Develop and mentor teammates through the creation of TEMPEST Control Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Reports.
  • Lead TEMPEST analyses and implement mitigation mechanisms to ensure compatibility and security of all physical, functional, and system interfaces.
  • Lead the evaluation of design drawings to verify and correct system design to TEMPEST standards.
  • Lead TEMPEST testing of hardware and software systems in both lab and on-aircraft environments to verify adherence to TEMPEST standards.
  • Support project management by tracking and reporting project status, generating bids and requirements, and providing work statements, budgets, and schedules.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, or physics.
  • Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry.
  • Previous experience with MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC.
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic concepts, such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering.
  • Current Certified TEMPEST Professional – Level I or Level II certification.
  • Minimum of 4 years of TEMPEST experience after receiving CTP certification.
  • Experience using RF test and measurement instrumentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7 or more years' related work experience.
  • 13 or more years' related work experience.
  • 18 or more years' related work experience.
  • International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer Certification.
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing.
  • Knowledge of RF grounding and shielding principles.
  • Hands-on experience with MatLab.
