Position Overview:
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for executing radiographic procedures and related techniques. You will administer x-radiation to generate diagnostic images for physician evaluation.

Flexibility in hours and overtime may be required to ensure high-quality patient care at designated sites. You will collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to committees and engaging in projects as needed.

Hours will vary (PRN/Float Pool)

Monday - Friday, Day Shift (Part-Time)

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic radiographic procedures.

- Depending on the clinic assignment, you may also handle patient reception, phlebotomy/specimen collection, rooming patients, and taking vital signs.

- Verify the patient's clinical history with the procedure, ensuring that information is documented and accessible to the radiologist and provider.

- Prepare and position patients for procedures, providing clear instructions to achieve desired results, enhance cooperation, and reduce anxiety.

- Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to effectively perform procedures.

- Position patients to optimally demonstrate the anatomical area of interest, considering patient comfort and capability.

- Immobilize patients as necessary for examinations.

- Take responsibility for addressing the physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.

- Initiate basic life support when required.

- Determine radiographic techniques and exposure factors.

- Implement radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, yourself, and others.

- Process images and review them for proper identification and quality control.


- Utilize radiology information systems (including PACS), complete all necessary records and reports, and submit images and data for physician review and interpretation.


- Provide practical instruction for radiography students and other partners.

- Adhere to universal protocols, standard precautions, and appropriate patient identifiers.

- Apply patient safety principles during procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.

Certification and Licensure:
- ARRT Radiography registration is required.

- IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation is necessary if working in Illinois.

- WI-DSPS radiographer license is required if working in Wisconsin.

- Approved CPR or BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this role are considered essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.


- Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.


- Frequently required to stand, occasionally required to sit, and must frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.


- Frequently lift and/or move patients using appropriate patient transfer equipment such as gait belts, Hoyer lifts, hovermats, slider boards, etc.


- Move (push, pull) patients in wheelchairs and patient carts, and handle portable imaging equipment.


- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
