Job Summary:

COMHAR, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Service Authorization Technician to join our team in Philadelphia. As a key member of our Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) program, you will be responsible for admitting clients by gathering and recording provider, client, and insurance information. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring that billing authorizations are uploaded from CBH and correctly inputted into EVOLV.

About the Role:

This role reports to the Office Manager of Children's Services. The Service Authorization Tech oversees preauthorization and referrals process for the IBHS program. Key duties include improving the proficiency of receiving and correcting authorizations for services, processing client admissions, tracking discharges, and uploading/downloading CBH authorizations. You will also develop and monitor authorization reports with the Office Manager and ensure a responsive system for authorization of services and payment of claims.

Responsibilities:

* Downloading and uploading of CBH authorizations
* Processing of referrals
* Processing invoices
* Ensuring client eligibility
* E-mail assigned staff and case managers about their clients 'evaluation appointments
* Identifying alternative sites needed for expansion of services
* Discussing RFPs with Division Director of Children Services
* Coordinating medical records storage
* Overseeing department training needs

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have a high school diploma or GED, 2 years' experience in an office setting, proficiency with Microsoft Office software, understanding of basic accounting, and personnel management. Experience with billing and insurance, as well as knowledge of EHR systems, is also essential.
