Purchasing and Inventory Responsibilities
The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator will be responsible for accurately selecting, receiving, storing, inventorying, and distributing First Aid supplies. This role will also involve preparing and entering purchase orders for purchasing requirements, verifying availability of inventories for manufacturing requirements, and maintaining, auditing, and reconciling inventory records and conducting inventory counts.
Procurement and Negotiation
The successful candidate will prepare and issue requests for quotations and develop substitutes if requisitioned items are not available. They will also survey markets for alternate sources, select and negotiate contracts with MRO Suppliers, and contact vendors to obtain prices, negotiate possible price revisions, expedite delivery of purchases, correct invoice errors, negotiate credits and adjustments, inform of schedule changes, and obtain satisfactory arrangements.
Supplier Evaluation and Communication
The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator will evaluate supplier performance based on set criteria relative to supplier service and product acceptability. They will maintain effective communications with internal customers, as well as suppliers, regarding inventory levels, prices, terms, delivery, unscheduled orders, deadlines, etc.
Research and Continuous Improvement
The successful candidate will research and source new products and vendors as assigned. They will participate in related staff, team, and/or task group meetings to ensure the continuous improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality, while reducing costs. They will also conduct a continuous study of internal processes and methods, research new technology, and develop proposals for the application of such technology for the purposes of cost reduction and process improvement.
Work Schedule and Benefits
The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator will work 8am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays. The company offers a competitive salary of $20-$22 an hour, based on experience, as well as medical, dental, and vision insurance, onsite doctor, 401(k) with company match, disability and life insurance, paid time off, personal days, and 8 paid holidays.
