The Medical Laboratory Technician II plays a critical role in the laboratory, performing complex clinical testing and ensuring accurate and timely results. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex clinical testing in assigned sections, including general laboratory, Blood Bank, and Microbiology.
- Recognize abnormal critical values and follow proper guidelines for notifying medical team members of results.
- Perform clerical, general, and phlebotomy duties related to daily operations in the laboratory.
- Provide and dispense blood products as requested by medical staff.
- Participate in quality control, performance improvement, proficiency testing, and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Associate degree or higher in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of an official U.S. military medical laboratory procedures training course or equivalent laboratory training and experience.
- MLT certification from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS.
