Job Summary

Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Hyperbaric Oxygen Technologist to join our team. As a Hyperbaric Oxygen Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing safe and effective hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination of hyperbaric patients and day-to-day operation of the hyperbaric facility.
  • Maintain competencies, continuing education, and certifications as appropriate to the position.
  • Perform patient care within the scope of practice as a Nurse (RN or LPN), Respiratory Therapist, EMT, or Paramedic.
  • Keep complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to assessment, treatments, and documentation of care.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, safety programs, and organizational committees as requested.
Requirements
  • Current and valid license or certification in the respective field of qualifying credential (e.g., Registered Nurse, LPN, Respiratory Therapist, EMT, or Paramedic).
  • Maintenance of National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) qualifying credential.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.
  • Documentation of successful completion of a 40-hour National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) – approved Introductory Hyperbaric Medicine Course.
  • Certification as a Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) successfully obtained within 365 days of eligibility.
  • At least 12 months of recent practical experience in clinical hyperbaric medicine, after meeting the entry-level qualifications and training requirements as delineated in this document for an entry-level hyperbaric technologist.
Working Conditions

This position requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. The work environment is generally clean and well-lit, with some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
