Nurse Care Coordinator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Charge Nurse to join our team at Festus Manor Nursing Center. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of resident care services, ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Participate in and oversee the assurance of the provision of resident care services consistent with accepted standards of care and as prescribed by the attending physician.
* Provide direct resident care and assign duties to LPNs/LVNs and/or nursing assistants as appropriate.
* Assure resident care is delivered in accordance with accepted standards of practice.
* Observe, assess, and report resident conditions/changes and then in accordance with Festus Manor's Policy and State/Federal guidelines and regulations.
* Administer medication/treatments as prescribed.
* Receive, transcribe, and execute physicians' orders.
* Implement and evaluate a resident's care plan.
* Identify and secure equipment and supplies.
* Direct, monitor, and coordinate the timely delivery of quality resident care by all subordinate Staff.
* Assure that each resident's accident or incident is fully documented and reported in accordance with Festus Manor's Policy and State/Federal guidelines and regulations.
* Assure that each resident's attending physician and family or responsible party is promptly notified of any significant change in the resident's health condition.
* Assist in the evaluation of subordinate staff and any necessary counsel/discipline in accordance with Festus Manor Policies.
* Ensure a safe environment is maintained in accordance with Festus Manor's Disaster and OSHA Manual and all local, State, and Federal guidelines and regulations.
* Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
* Has reviewed Festus Manor Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee's responsibility to enforce it.
Requirements:
* Graduated from an accredited nursing school and holds a current and valid license in the appropriate State.
* Ability to read, write, and speak the English Language.
* Current CPR certification.
Working Conditions:
* Ability to communicate in English via phone, in writing, and verbally in conversation with different levels of Staff, patient families, and any outside customers.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to utilize a computer, phone, etc. for extended periods of time.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
