Travel Radiopharmaceutical Imaging Specialist

Estimated Salary: The pay package for this position is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week, with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Based on industry standards and the location, we estimate the annual salary to be around $85,000-$95,000.
Job Description:
Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Responsibilities:
• Administer radioactive substances to patients for diagnostic imaging purposes, working closely with nuclear medicine physicians to perform tests that provide detailed images of the body's organs and tissues.
• Operate advanced imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners to capture the distribution of radioactive tracers inside the body.
• Monitor patients during the administration process, checking for any immediate adverse reactions or complications, and ensure proper disposal of radioactive materials in accordance with safety protocols.
• Explain imaging procedures to patients, alleviating concerns and ensuring they understand the process, risks, and benefits.
• Review images to ensure diagnostic quality, and ensure proper labeling and documentation for each test performed, assisting physicians and radiologists by providing preliminary image analysis and noting any abnormalities or relevant findings.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including patient history, test results, and imaging reports, in compliance with hospital or facility protocols.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Possess strong knowledge of nuclear medicine principles, instrumentation, and techniques.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain up-to-date certification and licensure as required by state and federal regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues related to imaging equipment or radiopharmaceuticals.
