Position Type: Hourly, non-exempt
Quad County HR is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to support our engineering and manufacturing operations. This role is essential for the effective implementation and testing of electrical systems across our product range.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute electrical schematics and understand high and low voltage systems, including drives, temperature controllers, and basic PLC programming.
- Utilize various electrical control devices such as Controllers, PLCs, SCRs, and VFDs.
- Ensure all electrical systems are wired to maintain UL and CE compliance, with knowledge of ISO 9001 being advantageous.
- Demonstrate proficiency in working with 3-phase and single-phase circuits, as well as 4-20mA and 0-10V loops.
- Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics accurately.
- Fabricate and install components in accordance with Engineering CAD specifications.
- Analyze product requirements to enhance design efficiency.
- Provide feedback to the Engineering Department regarding potential improvements.
- Conduct fieldwork for furnace setups, repairs, installations, and startups.
- Travel for fieldwork is required (less than 15%), including occasional international travel.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems.
- Experience with gas burner systems or HVAC is beneficial.
- High school diploma, GED, or Trade Tech certification is required.
- Specialized certifications are preferred.
- Proficient in operating heavy machinery.
- Strong eyesight and color vision are essential.
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina are necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and perform various physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Capability to lift up to 45 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to operate machinery and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills.
