Job SummaryThe Direct Support Professional will provide training and support to individuals with disabilities in various settings, including residential, vocational, and community environments. This role requires a strong commitment to providing person-centered care, promoting dignity, and respecting the autonomy of individuals with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide training and support to individuals with disabilities in daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
- Assist individuals with disabilities in accessing recreational, cultural, and religious opportunities.
- Transport individuals with disabilities to and from jobs, day programs, medical appointments, and other activities.
- Complete daily progress notes and maintain accurate records of individual progress.
- Follow medication administration and documentation procedures.
- Attend scheduled meetings and participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Michigan driver's license and three years of driving experience.
- Flexibility, caring, good communication, and computer skills.
The Direct Support Professional will work in various settings, including residential, vocational, and community environments. The role requires standing, sitting, and using a computer, as well as moderate lifting and bending.
