Artists ReEnvisioning Tomorrow Inc (ART Inc) is a leading non-profit organization in Peoria dedicated to arts and culture, established in 2018 by Jonathon and Nikki Romain. Each year, ART Inc offers arts education programs to nearly 500 students, ensuring that all participants can explore their creativity and reach their potential through artistic expression, regardless of financial constraints.
Role Purpose:
We are seeking passionate educators in various artistic disciplines, including visual arts, creative writing, martial arts, STEAM, culinary arts, dance, cheer, yoga, theater, and more. This role offers a flexible schedule.
The Art Educator and Program Facilitator will be responsible for delivering arts education classes as part of ART Inc's Arts Science & Leadership Academy (ASALA). The educator will create engaging weekly lesson plans that introduce students to different artistic disciplines. These plans should be interactive, age-appropriate, and designed to highlight students' creativity and their experiences in arts-integrated learning environments.
ASALA serves students in grades 1-8 and operates Monday through Friday from 2:30 PM to 5:45 PM. Applicants should be available to teach at least one session per week, with each session lasting one hour. The program also includes Youth Leadership Teachers (high school students) who assist with tutoring and homework support.
All teaching artists must successfully complete a background check.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and educate students in a dynamic manner.
- Establish a consistent, positive, and supportive learning environment with clear procedures and expectations.
- Maintain classroom organization, including managing supplies and attendance records.
- Design and implement lesson plans, curriculum, and project-based learning experiences within an artistic discipline.
- Supervise student activities to ensure a safe and conducive learning atmosphere.
- Demonstrate a passion for the arts and a commitment to working with youth.

Supervision Structure:
The Art Educator will receive guidance and direction from the Program Coordinator and/or Program Director regarding all responsibilities associated with this position.

Mental and Physical Requirements:
- Physical demands are light, with occasional lifting or carrying of up to 25 pounds and navigating stairs. There may be pressure related to project deadlines.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
