Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of application processes for state and federal programs.
  • Utilize expertise in organization and administrative work to efficiently manage tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide positive and supportive interactions.
  • Navigate multiple systems, including hospital systems and state systems, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Work independently and demonstrate strong multitasking abilities to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Collect and review patient information to determine eligibility for support.
  • Prepare and review documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Complete various insurance applications after determining eligibility.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with The WellFund staff and hospital client staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times, adhering to HIPAA and Red Rule regulations.
  • Exemplify the Mission/Vision/Core Values of The WellFund in all personal and professional behavior.
  • Collaborate with manager to identify learning needs and set goals using available resources.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of departmental/hospital policies and procedures through participation and communication.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in computer skills is essential.
  • Ability to learn multiple databases and adapt to new systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Strong mathematical reasoning and computational skills to accurately process information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Ability to perform job functions within structured time frames.

Preferred Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Patient Advocate or equivalent training and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of Medicaid programs, specifically in Indiana.
  • Knowledge of the Federal Marketplace and willingness to obtain a Health Insurance License.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients, the public, and public officials.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and Red Rule regulations.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Location: Onsite at specific client location

Salary: $19.00 per hour based on experience
