Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Emory Decatur Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN, including cleaning patient rooms, operating clinical equipment, and assisting with emergencies.
  • Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Assist in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN, and ensure that prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
  • Comply with Standard Precautions guidelines, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards to maintain a clean and healthy work environment.
  • Operate various medical equipment, including bag-valve-mask devices, anti-embolism stockings, pneumatic compression stockings, oxygen, suction equipment, incentive spirometers, and bedside glucose monitoring machines.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Must meet one of the following requirements:
    • One year of direct patient care experience.
    • Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course.
    • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through the State of Georgia.
    • Current enrollment in a nursing program and completion of 2 clinical rotations.
