Senior Technical Specialist

S&ME, Inc. seeks a skilled Senior Technical Specialist to work in our Construction Services team in New Albany, IN. This challenging role offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $115,000 per year, based on experience.
Responsibilities
You will perform materials testing, conduct field and laboratory testing of construction materials, review project plans and specifications, document testing results, and collaborate with clients and staff to support project needs effectively. Your daily tasks will include working outdoors in varying weather conditions, walking over uneven terrain, standing for up to 12 hours a day, regularly lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of samples or equipment, and safely maneuvering field equipment on active construction sites.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a High School diploma/GED, a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction testing/inspection of materials like soil, concrete, masonry, and asphalt, and active Certification(s) such as ACI, NICET, or ICC Special Inspector. Experience with ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards is also essential. Preferred qualifications include additional certifications or specialized experience in advanced testing procedures.
