Job Title: Nuclear Hardness & Survivability (NH&S)/Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Systems Engineering Department Manager

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Department Manager to lead our Systems Engineering team in Nuclear Hardness & Survivability (NH&S)/Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing planning, risk, project performance, schedule, technical quality, and addressing technical or operational problems when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of engineers across multiple disciplines, including Nuclear Hardness & Survivability (NH&S) and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (EEE)
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement, hiring, development, training, attraction, and retention of top talent
  • Provide oversight and assistance to multiple business areas within the division portfolio, including Sentinel/GBSD, ICBM Sustainment, and Advanced Programs
  • Collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees to achieve business objectives and improve program performance
  • Develop and maintain talent within the organization, including recruiting, staffing, and retaining top talent
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of related experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access within a period of time, that meets current business needs
  • Minimum of 3 years in a formal management position
  • Experience developing, analyzing, and/or assessing systems for operating in high level electromagnetic environments
  • Experience working with one or more of the following (or equivalent commercial or military standard): MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-1766
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree with 9 years of experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics), preferably an Engineering degree
  • US Citizen with an Active Top Secret security clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Current Program Access
  • Proven performance as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution
  • Working knowledge and/or experience across engineering disciplines
  • Experience with the development of systems operating in nuclear environments
  • Experience on ICBMs
  • Experience working across the systems engineering lifecycle
  • Experience developing system requirements, verification plans, and reports
  • Experience creating or growing new sections or departments
  • Experience managing an engineering team
  • Familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within a diverse team
