We are seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at Wolcott Hall Nursing Center, a 58-bed skilled nursing facility in Torrington, CT.
As part of the Apple Rehab family, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team that prioritizes resident care and satisfaction. Our company culture is built on the philosophy of Better Life, which emphasizes the importance of relationships between staff and patients.
This per diem role offers flexibility and variety, as you will be working with residents who require short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing services. Your expertise will enable residents to achieve their maximum level of functional ability while maintaining positive interactions with the facility and staff.
To qualify for this position, you must be a graduate of an AOTA accredited OTA school and eligible for licensure in the state of practice. Prior long-term care experience is preferred but not required.
The salary for this position is $65,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

Responsibilities:
- Comply with ethical, regulatory, procedural, and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by state licensure.
- Assist the OT in providing occupational therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care as directed by the OT.
- Manage caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
- Instruct resident, family, and caregivers in OT procedures to be continued upon discharge.
- Adhere to PPS guidelines, ensuring all OT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
- Working with OT, provide oversight and direction to techs and assist in the supervision and education of affiliating students.
- Assist in the assurance that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly, and free from conditions that may cause safety hazards.
Requirements:
- Graduate of AOTA accredited OTA school and eligible for licensure in the state of practice.
- Prior long-term care experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Fine motor skills.
- Visual acuity.
