Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Crew Chief to oversee a two-person crew in our survey team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting daily site visits, organizing and maintaining survey job files, and providing on-the-job training. They will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to support project objectives and address any survey-related challenges. Adherence to safety protocols and procedures for survey personnel is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site visits to ensure survey operations are running smoothly
• Organize and maintain survey job files, including documentation and records
• Provide on-the-job training to junior survey staff
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to support project objectives
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures for survey personnel

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position in Aurora, Illinois. The role is primarily on-site, with 90% of the time spent in the field. The company is located in Aurora and has about 50 employees. You will work closely with the President and a PLS in the office, joining a survey team of 18 employees. The company specializes in high-end residential projects. Initially, the focus will be on construction staking, transitioning to more ALTA and boundary surveys through the spring.
