We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to contribute to the success of our imaging department at Kaiser Permanente.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the mammography quality program manager and mammography supervisor, you will perform mammograms and breast biopsies following the guidelines of ACR and FDA. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing mammography and other related breast imaging procedures
  • Documenting patient assessment/history related to procedures and providing patient care to meet patients' needs
  • Assisting physicians with image-guided diagnostic and invasive procedures
  • Maintaining manual and computerized patient, department records
  • Performing and documenting equipment QC according to department protocol
  • Providing practical instruction for student and other mammographers
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures
Essential Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Performing mammography and other related breast imaging procedures
  • Documenting patient assessment/history related to procedures and providing patient care to meet patients' needs
  • Assisting physicians with image-guided diagnostic and invasive procedures
  • Maintaining manual and computerized patient, department records
  • Performing and documenting equipment QC according to department protocol
  • Providing practical instruction for student and other mammographers
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures
Basic Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Three (3) years total of mammography experience, including one year experience with breast biopsy procedures
  • Associates degree or accredited hospital-based Rad.Tech. Program
  • Graduation from an approved school of radiology
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Radiologic Technologist License (Virginia)
  • Basic Life Support
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Mammography Technologist
Additional Requirements

You must also be able to:

  • Lift objects heavier than 50 pounds
  • Perform difficult manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination skills
  • Walk and stand for prolonged periods
  • See objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises
  • Concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time
  • Effectively communicate and interact with others
