Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutritionist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Nutritionist, you will play a critical role in providing nutrition services to clients in various settings, including clinics, schools, and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient nutritional assessments and evaluations in various settings
  • Develop and monitor nutritional care plans and food packages
  • Certify clients for participation in public health programs
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to clients
  • Make referrals to programs such as Medicaid, AFDC, and SNAP benefits

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of nutrition principles and practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff members
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to respond to public inquiry regarding the WIC program
  • A valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian certification
  • Prior public health experience and/or experience with the WIC program
