Mile Bluff Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will provide medical care to active individuals of all ages and in various settings, including injury prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency care.
Key Responsibilities- Cover athletic events and after-school activities at a contracted high school, providing medical care and support to athletes.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of athletic injuries, including prevention, diagnosis, and management.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and coaches to ensure seamless care and support.
- Manage concussions, including assessment, diagnosis, and return-to-play protocols.
- Document treatments and evaluations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Analyze root causes of injuries to prevent future occurrences.
- Provide occupational health and rehabilitation services, including POETs, desk assessments, and FPNs.
- Perform functional progress assessments, post-offer employment tests, and job-specific conditioning programs.
- Coordinate schedules for event coverage and work as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic.
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology.
- 1+ years of related work experience.
- Current Athletic Trainer license in the state of Wisconsin.
- Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers.
- Valid, current driver's license.
- BLS certification.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Intermediate to expert proficiency with computers.
- Ability to perform musculoskeletal examinations.
- Ability to perform concussion evaluations.
- Knowledge of emergency care and occupational health.
- Self-starter with excellent compassion, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills.
