Job Overview

Ocean Monmouth Care LLC is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Nurse to join our team. As a Lead Nurse, you will be responsible for providing medical services directly to patients and maintaining accurate records and medical files.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical services to patients, including medication administration and lab services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including individual charts, daily medication charts, and progress notes.
  • Assist with the development and revision of policies and procedures for medication administration and pharmacy oversight.
  • Work with the pharmacy team to ensure accurate inventory control and balance verification.
  • Ensure compliance with DEA and state regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to prepare for inspections and surveys.
  • Administer and dispense medication under the direction of the physician.
  • Ensure the treatment plan of the physician or Medical Director is being followed.
  • Place and interpret Mantoux Testing.
  • Make appointments for patients to see the physician and provide lab work and referrals for additional follow-up care.
  • Assist in training staff in medical and health and safety matters.
  • Maintain contact with community medical personnel.
  • Assist in the development and revision of policies and procedures for medication compliance.
  • Provide training for staff development specific to health care needs.
  • Purchasing and ordering medical supplies as needed.
  • Educate patients about methadone maintenance and detoxification, as well as side effects and provide education on lab results and all medical matters.
  • Educate pregnant patients about prenatal care and assist the primary counselor in coordinating outside services as needed.
  • Discuss with physicians and staff significant changes in treatment or noted patterns of behavior affecting treatment.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current LPN license within the state where the facility is providing service. Current RN license preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years related nursing practice.
