Position Overview:
The Occupational Therapist will work directly with clients in their residences to evaluate, design, implement, and engage in rehabilitation programs aimed at enhancing or restoring essential life skills, including vocational, domestic, and daily living abilities, as well as fostering overall independence for individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with clients, their families, caregivers, and healthcare providers to develop, execute, and assess personalized care plans.
- Delivering direct occupational therapy services in alignment with the care plan established by the healthcare provider in a home-based setting.
- Providing education and guidance to clients and their families regarding rehabilitation practices and activities that promote health, safety, and independent living.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of observations, interventions, and evaluations related to client care and services rendered.
- Selecting activities that facilitate the development of work and life-management skills tailored to the individual's mental or physical capabilities.
- Advising on modifications to clients' work or living environments to better suit their needs and abilities.
- Participating in research initiatives and engaging in formal educational training related to therapy practices.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
