POSITION OVERVIEW

The Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab is accountable for various nursing responsibilities, including patient holding and recovery. This role involves delivering both direct and indirect patient care based on individual health conditions, catering to a diverse patient demographic ranging from adolescents to seniors. The nurse will oversee junior staff to uphold safety standards for patients. Completion of designated competencies for the role is expected within the introductory period, along with other related responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year in critical care, emergency department, or operating room settings.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or specialized procedures.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURE:
REQUIRED: Valid Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
PREFERRED: Not applicable.
REQUIRED TRAINING:
- Must possess active Basic Life Support certification from a recognized provider (ARC or AHA) upon hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- AHA ACLS certification is required within 60 days of hire or transfer into this role.
