Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with employers, insurance companies, and case managers to provide exceptional care and services to employees.
- Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation and visit charges.
- Participate in departmental meetings and present the needs and concerns of the occupational health nurse or CMA role.
- Advise on quality and safety improvement ideas to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Order supplies for the clinic and train new employees.
- Identify operational issues and propose solutions to management.
- Perform occupational health nursing duties, including drug screens, breath alcohols, and spirometry tests.
- Follow Mercy's safety guidelines and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Iowa or compact state OR Certified Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) required.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
- Occupational Health Nurse or Case Manager Certification preferred.
- Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse & Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.
- Work requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to read pertinent printed materials and distinguish colors.
- Ability to accurately read measurements on patient-related equipment.
- Ability to read management reports or other pertinent printed material.
- Adaptability to performing under stress when confronted with emergent, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations.
- Ability to maintain both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers, patients, and visitors.
- Adaptability to accepting responsibility for the direction, control, or planning of an activity.
